The first batches of Xtractors were either offensive or defensive. Merging attack and good shield has always been problematic. Shields are heavy, make units slow, and unable to attack properly. Slammer, with its slamming shield features is Xtractors' Industries first design success in this area: using the shield as a weapon is not only elegant, but also cheap to manufacture. That's why Slammer is one of the mainstays of the Xtractor army.
